Alchip and Credo Provide 28Gbps SerDes ASICs for Enterprise Data Communication

Taipei, Taiwan/Hong Kong/ San Jose, USA – April 21, 2014 --  Credo Semiconductor, a global innovation leader in SerDes technology, and Alchip Technologies, Ltd. (TWSE: 3661), a world leading fabless ASIC company, announced a strategic partnership for providing 28Gb/s SerDes IP for ASIC solutions targeting the Data Center and Enterprise Communications markets.

Leveraging its advanced and innovative architecture, Credo Semiconductor will offer to Alchip’s customers a world class 28Gb/s SerDes IP in TSMC 28nm process that features small area, low jitter, low power, and low latency, as well as advanced TX pre-emphasis equalization, RX CTLE (continuous time linear equalization) and DFE (decision feedback equalization).  The Credo SerDes has been tested at 28Gb/s across a test channel with more than 35dB loss at Nyquist frequency.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Alchip to offer the Credo SerDes solutions to their customers serving the high performance enterprise markets.” said Bill Brennan, Credo CEO. “With our 28nm, 28Gb/s SerDes solutions, Credo and Alchip will enable best-in-class solutions for our customers. Credo is very excited about the collaboration with Alchip.”

“Alchip’s design requirements are growing increasingly complex from our global tier-one system customers.” said Johnny Shen, President and CEO of Alchip. “By adopting Credo’s high speed SerDes IP solutions, Alchip is well-positioned to meet these challenges and reduce design turn-around time. This collaboration between Credo and Alchip will extend our value proposition to our customers with the best in class silicon solutions.”

Credo Semiconductor will offer a private demonstration to potential business partners. Companies interested in learning more about Credo Semiconductor’s current silicon, as well as future developments should contact Email Contact.
