April 08, 2014 -- Exprodat, the UK-based provider of Esri-based petroleum GIS services, software and training and Esri Gold-level Business Partner, will be supporting the forthcoming 2014 Esri Petroleum GIS Conference meeting in Houston (formerly known as the Petroleum User Group or PUG).
Two Exprodat staff will be presenting during the conference. Thierry Gregorius, Principal Strategic Consultant, has been invited to repeat the talk he first gave at the 2013 European Esri PUG during which he takes a light-hearted look at the idiosyncrasies of the oil and gas industry and suggests new ways of working.
Additionally, in the Health and Safety track, Exprodat’s Paola Peroni will partner up with Dr. Peter Ulrich of CLIMsystems to present the results of a research project that investigated the use of climatic big data to better understand and manage the opportunities and risks of operating in a harsh environment such as the Arctic.
Gregorius’ “The things you’ve always wanted to know about GIS… but never dared to ask” will take place within the New Technologies stream at 8.30 am on Thursday 24th April 2014 whilst Peroni’s, entitled “Operating in the Arctic: understanding and managing risks with GIS” is scheduled for 1.30 pm on Friday 25th April 2014.
To support both of these interesting and useful presentations, further Exprodat staff will be available on their booth (#607) to answer attendees’ questions about real benefits that can be gained from using GIS in their exploration and production workflows.
Exprodat employs people who have real-world experience of working in the oil and gas industry and knowledge of implementing Esri’s GIS software from single workstation projects to enterprise-wide implementations.
Talking about their trip to Houston for the PUG, Sales Director Jules Cullen remarked; “The Houston PUG is a must-attend event for GIS service providers and end-users alike. The conference presents a fantastic opportunity for us to spend time with our customers and partners in the US; sharing our challenges and exploring opportunities to further leverage the Esri platform for the petroleum industry”.
