WiSpry Launches Industry First RF Capacitor Array for Tunable Filters in Consumer Wireless Applications

WS1042 Combines Smallest Step Size, Highest Q and Extreme Voltage Handling

BARCELONA — (BUSINESS WIRE) — February 26, 2014 — WiSpry, Inc., the leader in high-performance tunable radio frequency (RF) semiconductor products for the wireless industry, today announced the WS1042 tunable RF quad capacitor array optimized for tunable filter applications. This passive, non-fixed device enables RF designers to build adaptive frequency wireless networks, leveraging the highest possible Q that is required for widely tunable filter applications. The WS1042 boasts very high linearity, enabling the chip to be used in both receive and transmit chains. Capacitance step size is 25 fF - the smallest step size in the industry and the WS1042 can change filter center frequency in less than 20 us. Exceptionally high voltage handling as high as 100V further cements the WS1042 as an industry first. For more technical information, visit http://www.wispry.com

During Mobile World Congress, WiSpry will demonstrate the new WS1042 in a tunable filter application using equipment from National Instruments.

"National Instruments recognizes WiSpry as a leading provider of tunable RF filter technology,” said Charles Schroeder, Director of RF Product Marketing. “We were extremely pleased to help WiSpry demonstrate the 20µs capacitance tuning speed of their WS1050 device using the industry-leading measurement speed of our PXI vector network analyzer technology."

“Never before have our customers had access to capacitance technology so optimized for Tunable RF filter applications,” said Jeff Hilbert, president and founder of WiSpry, Inc. “The WS1042 delivers the highest Q performance, extreme voltage support, smallest step size, and high linearity - designed to allow tunable filters, free of traditional constraints. Now our customers can truly build Tunable RF filter networks into a consumer wireless system.”
