ModuleWorks Celebrates 10 Years With VISI

November 7, 2013

Leading CAD/CAM component supplier ModuleWorks is celebrating a ten-year partnership supplying 5-axis machining technology to Vero Software’s VISI brand.

VISI became one of ModuleWorks’ first partners when the company was formed in 2003, and General Manager Richard Youhill says: “We were able to complement our existing machining strategies of the time, with ModuleWorks’ 5-axis developments. We have seen the benefits of a long term partnership with ModuleWorks in that we’ve been able to dedicate additional resources to other CAM strategies such as our Hybrid Machining algorithms.”

The software features ModuleWorks’ complete set of seamlessly integrated 5-axis toolpath strategies, including multi-pass roughing, SWARF, contouring, flowline, and 3-to-5-axis conversion, providing a powerful set of flexible 5-axis tools to meet all machinists’ needs.

“Time to market was quick, and 5-axis technology has evolved rapidly to keep ahead in a very competitive industry,” says Richard Youhill.”

Following success with the 5-axis development, VISI also incorporated ModuleWorks’ state-of-the-art machine simulation tools which ensure their CNC programs are safe, collision-free, and right first time.

ModuleWorks founder and Managing Director, Yavuz Murtezaoglu says: “Traditionally, a tenth anniversary is celebrated with aluminium or tin, but we’re delighted to have been working with VISI on creating 5-axis CNC programs for machining any metal during that time. Our partnership highlights the benefits of adopting software components and delivering industry-proven technology to customers in a short period.”

VISI is acknowledged as one of the world’s leading CAD/CAM solutions for the mould and die industry, and ModuleWorks is a major supplier of technology for 3- and 5-axis toolpath generation and simulation.
