Realizing Quiet Drive and Low Energy Consumption for Home Appliances
TOKYO — (BUSINESS WIRE) — July 30, 2013 —
Toshiba
Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) today announced that it has launched a
sine-wave driver IC, TB6585AFTG, for the three-phase DC brushless
motors used in the fan motors of home appliances that require quiet
operation and low energy consumption, such as ventilation fans and
electric fans. Mass production shipment starts today.
The
integrated PWM1 controller circuit of driver IC generates a
sine wave, realizing a quiet, high efficiency motor drive.
The
TB6585AFTG adopts a small, leadless, heat-dissipating QFN48 package
that realizes the same absolute maximum ratings for voltage and current
as existing products2. The driver IC contributes to equipment
downsizing and lower PCB costs by reducing the required mounting area by
approximately 75%.
