NVIDIA Showcasing GRID Virtual Desktop Tech at PTC Live Global

NVIDIA and Partners Showcase Performance of PTC Creo on Virtual Desktops Using NVIDIA GRID Technology (Booth #326)

PTC Creo Users With NVIDIA GRID Enabled Servers Will Get a Full PC Graphics Experience on a Virtual Machine

ANAHEIM, Calif.--PTC Live Global--June 11, 2013--NVIDIA today--along with its alliance partners PTC, IBM and Citrix--unveiled the first public demonstration of PTC® Creo® 2.0 M060 software operating in a virtualized environment in IBM’s booth #326 at PTC Live Global.

Five of the leading applications in the PTC Creo design and analysis suite recently completed certification testing on the NVIDIA GRID™ platform. The NVIDIA GRID platform is a set of critical hardware and software technologies that enable hardware-accelerated graphics to run on virtual desktops. The complete PTC-certified virtualization solution included an IBM iDataPlex dx360 M4 server with an NVIDIA GRID K2 board and Citrix XenServer, and Citrix XenDesktop.

Starting with PTC Creo 2.0 M060, PTC will support five applications running in GPU pass-through mode on the hardware and software the company used for certification testing. In GPU pass-through mode, each virtual machine (VM) user has a dedicated NVIDIA® GPU assigned to his machine and an NVIDIA driver loaded into the VM to ensure a high-performance PC user experience. Users receive the performance that they expect and need for engineering while IT personnel get to centrally secure and manage valuable intellectual property and sensitive information. For details regarding PTC’s support of the new platform, please see

At the PTC Live Global event, NVIDIA will also be demonstrating PTC Creo 2.0 on the latest NVIDIA Quadro® graphics boards, which have been designed specifically for professional workstations and contain NVIDIA Kepler™ architecture-based GPUs. Recent improvements in the PTC Creo 2.0 graphics system enable performance scaling across the NVIDIA Quadro Kepler line. Visit NVIDIA at booth #715.
