DBx GEOMATICS Releases CloudVista, a service for creating and maintaining CartoVista tiled base maps in the “cloud” with Windows Azure

Gatineau, April 4th 2013 – DBx GEOMATICS announced today the release of CloudVista ( www.cartovista.com/cloudvista.aspx ), a new addition to its CartoVista interactive mapping solution. CloudVista is a Windows Azure cloud computing service to generate and maintain complex base map data tiles for use in CartoVista.

“Generating well designed online cartography for multi scale representation of an entire continent including street level detail is challenging and requires significant processing power”, said Dany Bouchard, President of DBx GEOMATIC inc. “Using Microsoft’s, Windows Azure cloud computing platform, we are now able to handle large amounts of map data sources and generate atlas-quality map tiles in hours instead of months. Furthermore Windows Azure provides scalable, secure, performance-efficient storage services for our client’s map tiles”.

“The CloudVista service can be scaled up at any time to meet the requirements of any online mapping project. Adding geographic coverage extent and depth are no longer limiting factors”, added Dany Bouchard. “From a business point of view, CloudVista provides our customers with all the benefits of an enterprise-class data center without the associated infrastructure maintenance cost”.

About DBx GEOMATICS inc.: DBx GEOMATICS ( www.dbxgeomatics.com ) is an industry leader in the development of interactive mapping applications.
