Nashua, NH, April 9, 2013: Rapid Sheet Metal today announced that its SolidWorks add-in “SolidQuote” supports SolidWorks 2012 and 2013 3D Design software with new capabilities for quoting sheet metal parts.
SolidWorks is focused on optimizing core design functions so users can work more efficiently and have the data they need to make better design decisions throughout the product development process. It also includes hundreds of new enhancements specifically requested by customers.

After SolidQuote™ is installed in SolidWorks™, users can cost a sheet metal part or assembly by selecting a material, finish and quantity. No other inputs are needed at the time of installation or costing. SolidQuote™ identifies and automatically costs such sheet metal features as hems, hardware and welding. A SolidWorks™ user can iterate their design and immediately see how design changes will impact the cost of the part. SolidWorks™ users can also learn how different materials, finishes such as plating, and quantities change pricing.
