DBx GEOMATICS Releases CartoVista 4.0 with full support for building interactive mobile applications for Apple iOS, Google Android and Blackberry 10 devices

Gatineau, March 27th 2013 – DBx GEOMATICS today announced an exciting new release of its thematic mapping solution, CartoVista 4.0. This version offers brand new capabilities to develop rich mobile applications targeting the Apple iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod), Google Android™ and Blackberry 10 platforms.

“With the integration of GPS and cameras, mobile devices open up a new world of possibilities for innovative and responsive mapping applications”, said Dany Bouchard, President of DBx GEOMATICS inc. “Mobile devices can be used in the field for online data entry and live access to strategic business data. Using Adobe Integrated RunTime (AIR) and the CartoVista Mobile SDK, customers can package the same mapping application into native apps for the iPhone, iPad, Blackberry 10, Nexux 7 and other Android™ devices, reaching the mobile app stores for millions of devices.”

Mobile applications developed with CartoVista 4.0 support local data storage, enabling faster display and full offline use. A free app is available on the Apple App Store ( https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/cartovista/id618390264?mt=8) and Google – Android Play Store ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.com.dbxgeomatics.cartovista). With this application, users can discover CartoVista’s interactive cartography on their smartphone or tablet of choice.

In addition to the mobile capabilities, CartoVista 4.0 includes a new drawing toolbar for creating map annotations, red lining and feature data entry. A new print layout allows users to build advanced templates to create high quality image, PDF and paper outputs.

Furthermore, the CartoVista Publisher now includes new user-friendly tools to configure and upload GIS layers to CartoVista Server. This facilitates the management of server content and the visualisation of large GIS data sets. Server-based layers can be quickly integrated into a regular CartoVista map for simple and easy deployment.
