Open-Silicon booth to feature variety of ARM core hardening case studies
MILPITAS, Calif., Oct. 23, 2012 — (PRNewswire) — Open-Silicon, Inc., a leading semiconductor design and manufacturing company, and winner of Best Paper at SNUG and CDNLive! 2012, announced today that Jeff Scott, Principal ARM® SoC Architect for Open-Silicon, will present a case study for dual Cortex ™-A9 SoC performance in multiple applications at ARM TechCon in Santa Clara. Mr. Scott's presentation will address the challenges faced by system architects when determining the correct dimensioning of cores, clocks, caches, interconnects and more, without driving the silicon area and cost to prohibitive levels. He will present a number of scenarios where a dual Cortex-A9 SoC is developed for use in Digital TV/DLNA, secure file-server, and distributed computing using both traditional static-method analysis for system performance as well as a SystemC-based performance model. The results of both methods will be compared, and the cost/performance trade-offs in the final architecture will be discussed.Open-Silicon will also feature ARM core hardening case studies in booth #56 on Chip Design Day, which will be held on October 30; the first day of ARM TechCon. Chip Design Day is a one-day intensive conference for chip design teams working with ARM silicon IP and tools.
