Red Hen Systems has released its new, robust Video Mapping System- or VMS-HDII.

Oct 1, 2012 FORT COLLINS -- The VMS-HDII is the only high-definition video recorder with mapping applications available on the market today. The VMS-HDII replaces the previous VMS-HD with added features including Bluetooth connectivity and up to four video channels that accommodate ultraviolet, infrared, high-definition and standard-definition video.

Red Hen’s VMS-HDII is the ideal video mapping system for surveillance operations by governments and public or private industries. Its extensive capabilities can be combined with other detection, patrol or surveillance devices to capture and map pipeline gas leaks, patrol and survey borders, and track changes to natural resources.

The HD-II allows for sensitive detection, geo-tagging and video-mapping of situations from pine forests plagued by beetle-kill to overheating electrical transmission crossbeams and loose electrical wires that, left unchecked, could cause wildfires and mass power outages.

Video mapping with the VMS-HDII aids in the early detection of and quick response to man-made errors, natural disasters and security breaches, to name a few. Utilizing Red Hen’s high-definition video mapping system can help reduce taxpayers’ burden by decreasing the amount of time and resources required to address these and other large-scale problems.

“Red Hen has developed and perfected spatial multimedia technology over many years,” said Red Hen CEO Neil Havermale. “We are confident that innovations like our high-def video mapping system and our Android smartphone and tablet application, MediaMapper Mobile, will empower geo-photographers and spatial media professionals to solve problems that require real-time solutions.”

Companies have moved quickly to incorporate the advanced VMS-HDII technology into their operations. Swedish FLIR PolyTech recently outfitted a demonstration model aerial gimbal camera with a VMS-HDII to showcase its far-reaching capabilities.

Red Hen Systems will be showcasing the VMS-HDII at the 2012 GeoINT Symposium on Oct 8-11 in Gaylord Palms, Florida.
