FISHER/UNITECH to Provide SolidWorks Electrical

Dassault Systèmes Unveils New SolidWorks Electrical Applications

Troy, MI (August 6, 2012) - FISHER/UNITECH, leading reseller of SolidWorks® 3D design software, will now offer SolidWorks Electrical, a new product developed by Dassault Systemes.  SolidWorks Electrical applications include an innovative system level 2D schematic design tool and a powerful 3D electrical modeling add-in to SolidWorks.  All project design data is synchronized with real-time, bi-directional updates.  The new product provides a range of electrical system design functionality to meet the needs of design professionals.

“SolidWorks Electrical brings an exciting new application to our customers that will enable them to further leverage their investments in SolidWorks and source additional productivity and cost savings,” said Charlie Hess, President and CEO of FISHER/UNITECH.  “This new product supports the fast growing field of mechtronics that many companies have already recognized the need to automate and support.”

SolidWorks Electrical provides new capabilities and is offered in three applications – SolidWorks Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical 3D and SolidWorks Electrical Professional.  All three offer an easy solution for mechanical and electrical engineering teams to collaborate, reduce delays, lower costs and get to market faster. SolidWorks Electrical includes 2D schematic design tools and 3D component models. Automated management tools streamline design of complex PLC connections. With SolidWorks Electrical 3D users can integrate electrical schematic design data from SolidWorks Electrical with the 3D model of a machine or other product. Users can place all electrical components in 3D, then connect everything and determine lengths of wires, cables, and harnesses. SolidWorks Electrical Professional is a single package that combines the 2D electrical schematic functionality of SolidWorks Electrical and the 3D integration of SolidWorks Electrical 3D.

SolidWorks Electrical will be available in August 2012. For more information on SolidWorks Electrical, it’s capabilities and how to buy visit www.funtech.com.
