3D Laser Mapping Launches Australian Training Programme

July 09, 2012 -- 3D Laser Mapping, an international pioneer of laser mapping and monitoring solutions, has announced they are to host their first user training courses in Australia in collaboration with TerraSolid, the Finish LiDAR and photogrammetric processing software specialists. The Terrasolid User Conference is a three day event taking place 22-24 August in Melbourne. The training programme offers existing users the opportunity to develop their skills and learn the latest features and applications, whilst new users will be able to learn new skills and explore more about what the software has to offer.

Terrasolid developers will be present at the conference to help answer any questions about the software and it’s applications and presentations on mobile LiDAR systems and applications will also provide a useful insight to this new and exciting technology.

Iain Bramwell, General Manager of 3D Laser Mapping in Perth commented, “This training event should appeal to everybody in the airborne and mobile LiDAR industry, whether they are current Terrasolid users or wish to take this opportunity to evaluate their software or learn of the advantages of mobile LiDAR. The broad training agenda showcases the brilliant functionality and new features of the latest Terrasolid products and attendees will be supported throughout the course with guidance and instruction from start to end product on real world projects. It will also be a great opportunity to reacquaint and meet people in the same industry”.

The Terrasolid User Conference event offers delegates a choice of training themes allowing individuals to focus on a particular area of interest. Following registration and introductions day 1 offers a choice between airborne data processing or mobile rail data processing, with training continuing on day 2. While day 3 offers a choice between high accuracy low level airborne LiDAR or 3D city modelling and wall texturing. Trainees will come together throughout the 3 days for additional training, industry presentations and networking during refreshment breaks.

The Terrasolid User Conference training event is aimed at delegates with a basic understanding and competency in the use of laser scanned data. Delegates are required to provide their own laptop for use during the event although software and licences will be available. All onsite refreshments are included within the training fee and group discounts are available.  A booking form and further information can be found at www.3dlasermapping.com on the ‘Conference’ page within the ‘News and Events’ section.
