ARC Delivers Collaboration Services Through HP Designjet ePrinters to Improve AEC Project Management

WALNUT CREEK, CA -- (Marketwire) -- Jun 12, 2012 -- ARC (NYSE: ARC) today announced that its cloud-based PlanWell Collaborate application has been integrated into the engineering line of HP Designjet ePrinters to save time, save money, and improve project coordination for its AEC clients.

Design and construction professionals can access documents stored in PlanWell Collaborate, print them immediately, mark them up, and scan them back to the cloud directly from the touch screen of a web-connected HP Designjet printer. No PC is required.

"We're refuting the common -- but incorrect -- belief that documents must be managed in either a digital or an analog workflow for project management," said K. "Suri" Suriyakumar, Chairman, President and CEO of ARC. "ARC provides our customers' documents wherever, whenever and in whatever format is most useful. Integrating our expertise in content management with HP imaging hardware is a great way to offer these solutions to our customers and add real value to their workflow."

Rather than simply bundling software and hardware together, ARC and HP are offering customers an integrated way to eliminate days, and sometimes weeks lost from construction projects due to poor document control, rework associated with building from the wrong documents, and the time required to print and ship documents from one location to another.

"HP is focused on developing new document workflow solutions that support the growing demand to manage, print and distribute information from the cloud," said Alex Monino, worldwide sales and marketing manager, Large Format Printing, HP. "Working with ARC, we're able to provide classic business-process improvements with a single digital workflow for digital or analog document management."

In addition to shortening document review times, providing greater control over large document collections, and improving the efficiency of project lifecycles, the HP Designjet ePrinters also come pre-configured for print cost recovery capabilities using ARC's Abacus PCR application.

While the combination of PlanWell Collaborate and HP Designjet ePrinters is designed to help complete design and construction projects faster, closer to budget and with more informed decisions, Abacus helps keep track of document-related costs by tracking and reporting printed documents by project, person and more.

PlanWell Collaborate's Scan-to-Cloud capabilities, as well as Abacus PCR are available on the HP Designjet T790 and T1300 ePrinters and HP Designjet T2300 eMFP.
