Stormwater Management using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 and Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis (2 PDHs)

AMS CAD + CAFM Solutions is excited to inform you that we will be presenting a FREE Stormwater Management Seminar on Oct. 18 in Fairfield, NJ with Autodesk Civil Technical Specialist Tanya West, PE, LEED®, AP.

This seminar provides information on how to utilize Autodesk solutions to effectively address stormwater concerns. Failure to follow the procedures and analysis required by regulatory agencies can significantly delay your project and increase your costs. This seminar will help assist you with determining how to use current technology to ensure that you complete your project on schedule and address specific project challenges.  We will focus on the engineering and technical issues associated with the planning, engineering, and construction of stormwater management requirements.

In this session, we'll design a storm water management system. We'll build upon data from a drainage planning study and show how to do a surface analysis and determine drainage catchments in AutoCAD Civil 3D, model a pipe network in Civil 3D and then share the pipe network and catchment information with Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis within AutoCAD Civil 3D. Once the system has been refined, we'll update the Civil 3D model and prepare reports for regulatory review.  Where applicable, we will incorporate techniques for Low Impact Development (LID), an innovative approach to stormwater management that is being promoted by federal agencies, state and local governments for regulatory compliance.

The Autodesk® Storm and Sanitary Analysis 2012 is a comprehensive, hydrodynamic hydrology and hydraulic analysis application for planning and designing urban drainage systems, storm sewers including highway drainage systems, and sanitary sewers.

With the Storm and Sanitary Analysis, engineers and planners using AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2012 and/or AutoCAD® Map 3D 2012 software can analyze both simple and complex networks including:

  • Inlets and catch basins
  • Detention ponds and outlet structures
  • Interconnected ponds
  • Flow dividers, standpipes, weirs, and orifices
  • Pumps and lift stations
  • Manholes and junctions
  • Rivers, streams, and ditches
  • Culverts and bridges

*Note - The Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis Extension is now included within the AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 software package.
