Emergency Management and Public Health Organizations Across the Country Take Advantage of Previstar’s Web-based “No-Charge” CEMPlanner Emergency Planning Software Service

CEMPlanner provides step-by-step planning guidance, increased stakeholder participation & collaboration, decreased formatting time, and automated document version control.

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — March 17, 2011 — In January 2011, Previstar offered its CEMPlanner emergency planning software service at no cost to city and county Emergency Management and Public Health organizations to bolster their planning processes and emergency plans. The offer is called Previstar’s Partnering for Preparedness (PFP) program and is open to qualifying jurisdictions that register.

Since announcing the program, jurisdictions located in 10 different states have elected to participate. States include:

Kentucky, Oregon, California, Ohio, Virginia, Minnesota, Texas, Florida, Missouri, and, Nevada

Jurisdictions in 12 additional states are in the process of registering.

“We’re very excited to partner with these communities and support their planning programs,” said Joe Gordon, Vice President and CEMPlanner Co-Designer.

The complimentary service lasts for 12 months and includes training and support. At the end of the term, organizations can renew their license at list price or cancel the subscription with no obligation. All information, including emergency plans and resource inventories created during the complimentary phase, can be downloaded to MS Word or Excel so that customers are not “locked” into continuing the service.

“Budget cuts are leaving many emergency planners with fewer resources to manage more responsibilities,” said Gordon. “Our PFP program is designed to provide organizations with a proven planning tool today without tying up limited budgets needed for other priorities. CEMPlanner increases capacity and efficiency throughout the planning process helping organizations with limited resources to do more with less.”

What is CEMPlanner?

CEMPlanner is a web-based service that brings planners and stakeholders together on a collaborative platform and facilitates the planning process (based on FEMA’s CPG-101) to create and maintain standards based plans. Plans are created, edited, and managed online using MS Word or a standard browser.

The system’s flexibility allows users to create numerous plan types such as the EOP, COOP, Exercise Plan, Pandemic Flu Plan, Communications Plan, etc.

Since being introduced to the market in 2009, CEMPlanner has been utilized by emergency management and public health organizations across the country including Atlanta-Fulton County, GA, Gwinnett County, GA, Lexington-Fayette County, KY, Houston, TX and numerous other public and private sector organizations.
