FMI to Deliver FMI/CMAA Survey of Owners at e-Builder User Conference

Fort Lauderdale, FL — May 15, 2006 — e-Builder, a leader in web-based construction management and collaboration solutions, announced that Mark Napier, a Consultant with FMI Corporation, will deliver the Sixth Annual FMI/CMAA Owners Survey during
e-Builder’s Annual User Conference on November 3, 2006. FMI is the nation's largest provider of Management Consulting and Investment Banking to the worldwide construction industry. Mr. Napier brings more than 24 years of construction-industry expertise, including controllership, operations, strategic procurement, and technology.

The FMI/CMAA Sixth Annual Owners Survey collects information and opinions from more than 100 owners in both private and public sectors. According to this year’s survey, owners are making changes that are revolutionizing the construction process. However, that is not meant to indicate overnight change, rather a process revolution where roles and methods are changing the way capital projects are delivered. The design-bid-build delivery method is still used by most owners, but that isn’t their preferred method. Additionally, owners are concerned about rising prices, but the rising cost of inefficiency may be even greater than materials. This session will detail what owners want from contractors and challenge the audience to look at new ways to meet the changing needs of owners and increase profits at the same time. The presentation will take place at The Mayfair Hotel and Spa in Coconut Grove, Florida during the user conference’s opening presentations.
