SEGGER announces J-Link support for the TDK-Micronas HVC 5x SOC series

Monheim am Rhein, Germany – April 13th, 2023

SEGGER’s market-leading debug probe J-Link now fully supports the new programmable SOC (system-on-chip) series by TDK-Micronas.

The latest hardware versions of all commercial SEGGER J-Link models ( J-Link PRO, J-Link ULTRA+, J-Link PLUS, and J-Link BASE) now support high-speed download and debugging of these cores via JTAG and SWD.

“Everyone in the embedded world knows the J-Link, and we all know TDK,“ says Dirk Akemann, Marketing Manager at SEGGER. “Both SEGGER and TDK-Micronas take pride in their decades of in-house operations - TDK in manufacturing and SEGGER in software and hardware development. Both have their products in use in billions of locations. We are very happy to be working with them.”

“SEGGER was not only quick to support our new SOCs but has also outperformed the competition in more than one case,” says Berko Kletzander, Product Line Manager for Motor Control ICs from TDK-Micronas. “The ability to tap into their expertise is a great asset for embedded system developers. At TDK, we are delighted to have this support as it makes bringing our next-generation embedded motor controller family to the world a lot easier. We look forward to much more cooperation in the future.”

SEGGER’s J-Link, the most widely used debug probe on the market, features a download speed of up to 4 MB/s, and the ability to set an unlimited number of breakpoints in the flash memory of MCUs, and much more. J-Link comes with free software and firmware updates. All supported devices can be used without the need to buy an additional license - no hidden costs – no future costs.

The TDK-Micronas core support has already been added to the J-Link software pack, which is available for download from the SEGGER website.
