Astun Technology has been recognised for its commitment to ESG

Market-leading open source geospatial solutions provider, Astun Technology, has been recognised for its commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) by EcoVadis, the world's largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, and by the organisers of the Thames Valley Tech Awards.

The fully-remote company is now an EcoVadis Silver Medal holder as well as a finalist in the ‘Sustainable Tech Company of the Year’ category of the Thames Valley Tech Awards which will be held this Thursday, 20th October. 

Astun’s ESG Coordinator, Leigh McLaren Brierley, comments, “This year has seen several significant achievements thanks to the efforts of our team. As well as our EcoVadis Silver Medal, we’ve been re-certified to Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus to help protect our clients’ data from cyber attack. We’ve also appointed a mental health first aider and are about to publish our first newsletter dedicated to ESG.”

A key part of the company’s ESG strategy is its ongoing commitment to supporting the GIS community through financial support and knowledge sharing. This year, three Astuners presented at FOSS4G in Italy and the company is a local venue sponsor for FOSS4GUK, to be held on Thursday, 17th November.
