USGIF Accepting Applications for Annual Scholarship Program

Herndon, Virginia (November 2, 2020)—The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) announces the opening of its 2021 Scholarship Program. Every year, USGIF awards scholarships of various amounts to exceptional students studying GEOINT, geospatial sciences, and other related fields. USGIF has awarded $1.4 million in scholarships since the program began in 2004.

Graduating high school seniors, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students interested in using capabilities of geospatial science, data and technologies to address human security challenges are all encouraged to submit applications. Past scholarship recipients are encouraged to apply.

“When USGIF established the annual scholarship program we were building a new discipline, a goal that could not be achieved without a strong investment in human talent. Over the last 16 years we’ve supported a diverse, well-educated, and culturally competent pool of students who went on to do great things for their communities,” said VP of Academic Affairs and Professional Development, Camelia M. Kantor, Ph.D.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on their academic and professional excellence as well as demonstrated service to the community. Doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate winners receive $3,000, while graduating high school seniors are awarded $1,000.

In addition to USGIF Scholarships at each of the four academic levels, the Foundation offers three additional specialized scholarships:
