Two years ago the modeFRONTIER UM14 celebrated the 15th anniversary of the foundation of ESTECO with record figures: over 200 participants gathered in Trieste from all over the world for two information-packed days dedicated to the most innovative applications of ESTECO technologies: the last editions saw over 7 industry & methodology sessions, 2 thematic roundtables and 48 speakers from the most important international research centers and companiesincluding Arup, ABB, Fujitsu Laboratories, Ford Motor Company, Volvo Car Corporation and Whirlpool.

The meeting is the perfect opportunity for users from different, technology-intensive industrial sectors and the world of academia and research to exchange and compare ideas. The users of ESTECO technology will testify to the versatility of the software and, given their different backgrounds, provide interesting starting-points for future applications and innovations.

the theme >> the speed of change

Technology has enabled acceleration everywhere in the modern world. People have fast accustomed to speed in their daily lives, from instant circulation of information to zero time-to-market manufacturing products. Yet the demand for quality stays high, the regulatory systems raise, and the competitive landscape expands. The result is an increase of complexity within the design and production process, leading to more acceleration for companies. As a paradox the speed of innovation demands levels of accuracy and controls that require time and slow pace.

How to satisfy the demand of knowledge by experience and the urgency of collaborating with enough velocity? The meeting will offer the opportunity to learn how companies of the like of Whirlpool, Mahindra and Volvo are tackling design decision-making at the speed of today’s data.

call for presentations

The conference is open to both academic and industry contributions showing how modeFRONTIER has been applied to accelerate product innovation. Authors have until February 26, 2016 to submit their abstracts. The deadline for full presentations/papers is April 29, 2016.
