Shotgun Announces 2015 Pipeline Awards Call for Entries

Los Angeles, CA (May 19, 2015) --  Shotgun Software announced the call for entries for the second annual  Pipeline Awards to recognize excellence in pipeline tool development, integration, engineering and usage. Members of the global Shotgun community are encouraged to submit inventive tools and individuals for consideration and an opportunity to be recognized with a distinguished Pipeline Award.

"We're constantly amazed by the cool new things that the Shotgun community is doing to help make artists' lives easier, and the ways they've been leveraging pipeline to help their companies extend the work that they do into new areas of business," said Don Parker, co-founder of Shotgun and Autodesk senior director. "The Pipeline Awards were started to recognize these unsung heroes who often don't get acknowledgement for the really hard problems they solve and incredibly important work that they do."

Pipeline Shotty Award recipients are selected for their excellence in pipeline tool development, integration, engineering and usage; "Pipeline Heroes" will also be recognized for consistently sharing best practices on the dev list or forums, or for developing tools that have been widely adopted across the Shotgun community.

Nominations are due by July 6, 2015, and winners will be announced at the Shotgun User Group, Tuesday, August 12th during the SIGGRAPH Conference in Los Angeles, Calif. If you know of tools, integration projects or people that should be considered for a Pipeline award, send your nominations via email to:  Email Contact . Please indicate whether you're nominating a tool or individual, and either a description of the tool (and name of its developer) or a brief write-up about the person worthy of a Pipeline Hero award. Individuals are welcome to nominate themselves; everyone who submits a nomination will receive a Shotgun t-shirt.

Last year's winners, Tony Barbieri, head of pipeline at Psyop, Armando Ricalde, co-founder and director of technology at Cluster Studio, Mike Romey, head of pipeline at Zoic and Patrick Wolf, global head of pipeline at Pixomondo all received unique trophies designed by steampunk artist Andy Nortnik. Last year's honorees for the top pipeline tools each received a custom award by kinetic artist Kyle Auga and included tools developed at The Capture Lab, Laika, Park Road Post and Burrows.
